Make a Home More Homey

This is a long overdue post. This is all about DIY. Our apartment was a little bland with its white walls and every time I walked through the front door I see boring. I thought "its time for some change". I headed on to pinterest to get some inspiration. Our apartment are full of dancers and we love music. One wall will be related to music. The other wall is inspired by an Urban Outfitters canvas art piece.
The results are down below.

  The Step By Stepish.

Dancing Vinyl

Cost: $20

Materials:
-Old Picture Frames (variety of sizes preferred)
-Spray Paint (white and whatever colors you would like)
-Clear Coat Spray
-Cardboard/newspaper
-An open space with good ventilation
-Nails or Pushpins
-Hammer (maybe)

Step 1

Take the white spray paint as a base coat. Let dry and add another coat if needed.

Step 2

After letting your base coat dry, pick your color of choice and begin spraying your frames. I suggest choosing colors that pop such as neons.

 Step 3

Then apply the clear coat to seal the paint and give a nice glossy finish. Or you can get a clear matte spray.

Step 4

Its time to hang them up. We originally wanted the frames to be up right, but we decided to mix it up with some crooked and some up right. Take your nails or pushpins and start hanging the frames up. We did not follow any pattern or photos from the internet. Use your creativity to hang them how you want them to look.

Music To My Walls

Cost: $16

Materials
-Old Vinyl Records w/ the sleeves
-Thumbtacks

Step 1
Go to a local thrift or music store that sells vintage vinyl. We went to Amoeba. Look for the sale section. At Amoeba, their are literally thousands of cheap records varying from 50 cents to $2. SUPER CHEAP! We searched for ones with interesting or funny sleeves.

Step 2
Remove all of the records from the sleeves

Step 3
Layout your sleeves and records into a checkered pattern and decide what sleeve goes where. Don't worry about the records because they look alike.

Step 4
Start tacking them up. You can precisely measure out each placement of the record sleeves but who has time for that?

Extra DIY

Far Out Chairs

Materials
-Leftover Spray Paint from the Frames DIY
-Clear Coat
-Cardboard/Newspaper
-Old Plastic Chairs

On our balcony, we have old boring white chairs. To put a little bit of excitement back into the them, take your leftover spray paint and go crazy. This is all about your creativity. Make a tie dye effect by mixing colors or color block sections of the chair for a chic look.

The Results

Badass Chairs.
